I created my first website only a few years ago. As I write this page I
have several under my belt. Not a large portfolio by any measure, but enough to
fill several pages with useful experiences, successes, and failures.
As I read emails and surf the web it occurs to me the
number of beginning sites and personal pages devoted to Japan is astounding.
I see many people in the beginning stages of what could be a great site. I
also see to many people using free hosts, unsound promotional techniques,
and becoming frustrated with a lack of visitors as I once was.
I don't
have a magic bullet to offer anyone and I can't show you the path to riches
yet. I can only tell you where I've been and what I've done in the hopes
that you may learn a valuable tip or avoid a painful mistake... to say "I wish
I knew then what I know now" one less time.
I would like to thank Steve S.
and his GeekVillage
webmaster community for running a top-notch forum and providing
priceless advice and support.
